ABILITY® Network adding 75 new jobs in Tampa

April 28, 2016

TAMPA, Fla. / April 28, 2016 / ABILITY® Network, a national healthcare information technology company, is expanding its Tampa operations and creating 75 new jobs by 2017. The new jobs will fill a variety of sales, information technology, and administrative roles in the organization.

With offices at One MetroCenter, located at 4010 W. Boy Scout Blvd. in Tampa, ABILITY currently employs 100 people in Florida and also has offices in other states across the country. The company has expanded its current space at that location to accommodate its growing team.

“I’m delighted with the wonderful support ABILITY has received from our economic development partners here in Florida,” said Mark A. Pulido, Chairman and CEO of ABILITY Network. “It’s an ideal environment for high-tech, high-growth companies like ours. And this commitment to our multi-year expansion is great news for ABILITY as well as the region.”

Founded in 2000, ABILITY Network has grown into a leading healthcare information technology company helping providers and payers simplify the administrative and clinical complexities of healthcare through innovative applications and data analytics.

“ABILITY’s success in Tampa is a testament to our ability to attract great technology talent and supply IT companies with the workforce they need to flourish in this market,” said City of Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn. “We’re proud to see ABILITY expanding here and thank them for making an even greater investment in our city.”

Florida is ranked third in the nation for high-tech establishments. More than 26,000 IT companies employing 245,700 professionals are located in the state. The Tampa metro area is home to approximately 20 percent of Florida’s IT positions. In the past five years, local IT jobs have grown at nearly twice the rate of overall average job growth.

“Hillsborough County has bested the competition once again,” said the Hon. Lesley “Les” Miller, Chair of the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners. “We are excited that ABILITY chose to add 75 more positions here instead of sending them to one of the three other states that were vying for their business. We are committed to supporting ABILITY’s continued growth in Hillsborough County and thank them for bringing more great jobs here.”

The project was made possible through strong partnerships between Enterprise Florida, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the City of Tampa, Hillsborough County and the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation.

“The Tampa area’s reputation as the top destination in Florida for information technology talent is spreading nationwide,” said Colleen Chappell, Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation Chair and CEO of ChappellRoberts. “Our pro-business climate, the collaborative efforts of our government and business leaders to support growing companies, and the tremendous influx of millennial talent is positioning us for tremendous growth in the next decade. This is a market with unlimited potential.”

ABILITY joins a growing list of information technology companies that have recently made the decision to locate or expand in Tampa and Hillsborough County, including Accusoft, Ashley Furniture’s Ashcomm LLC, BlueGrace Logistics, SunView Software and Tribridge.
