Aly Fernandez joins International Business Development team

January 19, 2016

The EDC’s International Business Development team has added another star player. Aly Fernandez, who came on board earlier this month as our International Business Development Manager, will assist with the coordination of international trade and foreign direct investment activities, such as the upcoming Tampa Bay Export Alliance (TBEA) mission to Costa Rica. She will also provide administrative and logistical support for all international events and work closely on collateral materials development with the EDC’s marketing department.

The International Business Development team, led by Lorrie Belovich, has made major strides in the past few years. Key accomplishments include leading successful trade missions to Brazil, Panama, Chile and Canada; boosting export opportunities for local businesses; and building regional alliances such as the TBEA. This year, the EDC has an even more ambitious international agenda, with several missions planned, an International Town Hall in May, and a slew of other activities designed to position Tampa Bay as a leading global metro area.

Prior to joining the EDC, Aly was an associate marketing manager for Busch Gardens & Adventure Island. In this role, she oversaw the creative process of over 200 projects from initial concept to installation for multiple marketing campaigns. She also served as brand project manager for events such as Real Music, Summer Nights, Island Nights, Howl-O-Scream, and Christmas Town. She has also held positions at IT services provider Trapezoid, Subway, and Raymond James Financial.

Aly earned her master’s in international business at Florida International University and her bachelor’s in International Business & Management at the University of South Florida.

“Aly’s education, international business and marketing experience, and fluency in multiple languages will add tremendous value to our team,” said Lorrie Belovich, International Business Development Director. “Her contributions will help us to broaden our development efforts through mission trips, FDI visits, educational seminars, and export counseling.”

Please join us in welcoming Aly Fernandez to the EDC team.
