Craig Richard recognized as Apogee Awards Honoree

The Tampa Bay EDC president and CEO was recognized among top Tampa leaders for this unique distinction by Tampa Bay Business and Wealth magazine

Tampa, Fla. (July 16, 2024) – The Tampa Bay Economic Development Council is proud to share that president and CEO Craig J. Richard has been named a finalist for the 2024 Apogee Awards.

Presented by the Tampa Bay Business and Wealth magazine, the Apogee Awards recognize Tampa Bay’s most impactful c-suite level executives and their dedication to their industries and communities. Judges for this year’s honor included Cari Ellison, director of marketing and communication with Ellison Construction; Valerie Ellis Lavin, CEO of Luminary; Leroy Moore, SVP and COO with the Tampa Housing Authority; Aakash Patel, founder and president of Elevate; and Billy West, president of M.E. Wilson.

Richard has been a critical part of the Tampa Bay EDC’s success over the past 8 years. His efforts in bringing both foreign and domestic business development to the Tampa area has resulted in thousands of new high-wage jobs, hundreds of millions of dollars in investment and one of the most diversified economies in the country. He has led the EDC through complicated challenges and the creation of new strategic partnerships and initiatives that will set up the organization for long-term success and positively impact the local community.

An awards ceremony will be held on September 18 for all Apogee Awards finalists where a winner in each category will be named.
