#EconDevWeek shines light on the impact of economic development

May 16, 2019

The Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation celebrated National Economic Development Week, May 6-11, sharing relevant content across our social media channels that highlight the significant impact our economic development stakeholders and partners make in our communities across Tampa and Hillsborough County.

Videos garnered more than 6,000 views, testimonials from six influential business leaders received more than 250 “likes” and “hearts,” and various tweets and posts generated close to 100,000 impressions on twitter and LinkedIn alone. We picked up 50 new followers on LinkedIn and 1,600 visits to our website from our EconDevWeek posts alone. In case you missed it, below is a recap of some of the content we posted. Check out the full results from the week here.

We kicked off National Economic Development Week with our annual Real Estate Forum where we gather our local commercial real estate community together to discuss trends in real estate and economic development. This year’s speakers covered the latest news related to Federal Opportunity Zones and a review of the EDC’s new GIS system, which allows brokers to search for available properties as well post their own listings.

Madison Lawson, the EDC’s International Business Development Coordinator, gave us a preview of Global Tampa Bay’s upcoming export sales mission to Brazil:

We met up with EDC Investor and boomerang resident Gina Curry to find out why she moved back to Tampa with her family:

And Adam Myers and Danielle Albright from our Business Development team provided a project overview of MLMC Florida, an alternative fuel manufacturer the EDC helped bring to our county last year:
