EDC to host second Site Selectors Guild Advisory Forum in April

February 11, 2016

In early April, the EDC will be hosting five site selectors from the Site Selectors Guild (SSG) for a multi-day tour of our area. They will meet with top business executives and community leaders and tour Hillsborough County to experience firsthand the Tampa area’s assets and advantages over competing markets.SSG image

The visit will conclude with an interactive panel open to EDC Investors and the public on Friday, April 8th. The Site Selectors Guild Advisory Forum will take place from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina. Attendees will have a unique opportunity to hear the site selectors’ impressions of our community’s strengths and weaknesses as a destination for major corporate relocation and expansion projects. They’ll also share the latest trends driving corporate site selection such as business climate, talent, and transportation.

“We know we live in a great community that offers an excellent business climate, an exceptional quality of life, and a low cost of living,” said J.P. DuBuque, Interim President and CEO of the Tampa Hillsborough EDC. “The insights these site selection experts will provide will help us to raise our game and become even more competitive and attractive to companies ranging from corporate headquarter operations to fast growing young companies.”

The EDC previously hosted five site selection professionals from SSG in September 2014. Following that event, one of the consultants was so impressed with the region that he subsequently brought a project worth hundreds of new high-wage jobs to Hillsborough County. The deal is still in the final stages of completion, so stay tuned – we expect to announce it later this year.

Registration for the April 8th Advisory Forum at the Marriott Waterside open March 1. Until then, please mark your calendars for this must-attend event.
