Experienced international business development professional joins Team EDC

Earlier this month, the Tampa Hillsborough EDC hired Ajay Sujanani as the vice president of international business development. Bringing extensive international experience to the table, Sujanani will help the organization, as well as the cooperative effort Tampa Bay Export Alliance, rise to the next level.

Sujanani will lead international business development efforts for the EDC, including sales and FDI missions to foreign markets, export counseling, and connecting local companies to the resources necessary to expand overseas.

“I am excited about this opportunity with the Tampa Hillsborough EDC,” said Sujanani. “International business development has been my passion, and the team at the EDC, as well as the Tampa Bay Export Alliance, accomplish truly outstanding work.”

Sujanani’s international business experience includes having managed business development initiatives in over 60 international markets across six continents. He has served as the managing director of international investment for the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, where he managed a portfolio of projects worth $10 billion and 15,000 jobs and was responsible for various missions to Australia, Mexico, Middle East, Canada, Israel, and India.
