Global Tampa Bay opens registration for Mexico export sales mission

January 17, 2018

Global Tampa Bay is accepting applications for its next export sales mission to Mexico City on April 10-13.

This export sales mission features the U.S. Commercial Service Gold Key Program, which offers personalized one-on-one appointments with potential customers in Mexico City. Interested companies will receive an initial market evaluation prior to acceptance into the program. There is a delegate package available for interested parties as well.

The multi-day mission will include a country commercial briefing by the U.S. Embassy, a reception hosted by the U.S. Ambassador to Mexico, and plenty of networking opportunities.

The Mexico economy presents plenty of opportunities for companies in the United States looking to increase their presence in Latin America. Of the estimated $579.2 billion in trade between the U.S. and Mexico in 2016, $262 billion of it was exports from the United States.

The Tampa Bay market is a prime candidate for trade with Mexico. Mexico is currently Port Tampa Bay’s fourth largest export destination and as Florida’s eighth largest trading partner. The second largest economy in Latin America, Mexico’s large, diversified market means that products from the United States do well there.

The top sectors for exports from the United States includes automotive parts and supplies, education and training, environmental technologies, healthcare products and services, telecommunications equipment, and more.

Applications for the Gold Key close on February 1st. For more information on the mission, please visit Global Tampa Bay’s website.
