Hillsborough County’s labor force increases 27% since the recession

Since the recession, Hillsborough County’s labor force has grown significantly – showing a gain of 160,100 residents employed or a 27% increase between 2009 and 2019.

Furthermore, the unemployment rate hit 2.7 percent in November 2019. That is the lowest unemployment rate for Hillsborough County in more than 20 years.
