Inpeco will lease 2,650 square feet of space at CAMLS in downtown Tampa

Tampa, Fla. (September 8, 2022) – Switzerland-based Inpeco, the pioneer in clinical lab automation committed to improving healthcare outcomes, has announced plans to open a regional headquarters in Tampa. The company’s initial plans include leasing 2,650 square feet of space at CAMLS in downtown Tampa to house its financial, quality, people and talent, and business operations teams of 15 people.

“Tampa is a thriving metropolitan area and its downtown core is packed with leading healthcare institutions conducting groundbreaking research, developing new technologies, and training the healthcare leaders of tomorrow,” said Maricel Roberts, President and Managing Director, Americas. “Our upcoming partnership with CAMLS is a true synergy of disciplines and common vision of innovating and improving delivery of care and we are beyond excited to join this community.”

Inpeco is making significant investments in its new space and business operations infrastructure, which will include a product showcase for customers and a training facility for sales and service engineers. Additionally, the company is expanding its sales and service employee base across North America to assure customer proximity.

In 1995, Inpeco introduced the world’s first automation system reducing errors in clinical labs to advance medical diagnoses. Today, the company has manufactured and delivered more than 2,400 lab automation solutions, which have been delivered around the world by such global partners as Siemens Healthineers, Abbott, and Becton Dickinson.

“With the addition of Inpeco to downtown Tampa’s burgeoning medical district, USF Health and CAMLS are nicely situated to further enhance Tampa’s ability to attract businesses from around the world and make this region a global player in the development of health care technologies,” said Haru Okuda, MD FACEP FSSH, executive director of CAMLS, professor in the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine, and associate vice president of Interprofessional Education and Practice for USF Health. “Inpeco choosing to be headquartered at USF Health CAMLS, one of the world’s premier health care simulation centers, makes them a much-welcomed addition to Tampa’s health care evolution.”

The Tampa Bay Economic Development Council made a convincing case for Inpeco to choose Tampa by providing community and labor market overviews, hosting site visits and community tours, assisting with real estate searches, and making connections to local medical, university and workforce partners.

“Health tech is an important and growing sector of our life sciences and healthcare industry,” said James Nozar, chair of the Tampa Bay EDC. “For decades, Inpeco has been delivering automation solutions that improve health outcomes. We’re thrilled that Inpeco’s leadership team has chosen Tampa for this new regional HQ, and we look forward to continuing to work with them as they grow here.”

Inpeco is the latest life sciences and healthcare company to announce an expansion in Tampa and Hillsborough County, following NuMedTechs, Axogen, and Pfizer.
