Melanie brings her customers a wealth of skill, experience and professionalism that is at the top-shelf of the Tampa Bay Area real estate industry.

Nearly 150 people move to the Tampa Bay area every day. From your perspective and your line of work, what insight can you share on why people and companies are choosing to relocate to Tampa?

I think it goes without saying that the Tampa Bay area as a whole has a competitive affordability factor working for it! We have no personal state income tax and our corporate income tax is reasonable. Tampa’s office rents are also much lower than Miami, NYC, Denver or other highly populated metro areas. Tampa is a dynamic source for talented and well-educated professionals. Many people from the Tampa labor pool are specialists in marketing or technology, which is very attractive to not only well-established corporations, but also to start-up businesses.

You work with a lot of companies involved in corporate relocations. In what ways do you help them beyond moving services and home finding assistance?

We assist employees moving to Tampa with area tours, trailing spouse career placement assistance, selling their current home and purchasing their new home. We also arrange for school tours, if necessary, and assign only our best, certified relocation specialists to help acclimate the employee and their family to the Tampa community.

The Tampa area has changed so much over the past decade. As someone who was born and raised in Tampa, what new developments or changes are you most excited about?

I am so excited for the Water Street development in downtown Tampa. This project will help create a livability factor in the city much like Denver has in Colorado and Manhattan has in New York. I have also enjoyed the Tampa Riverwalk since its transformation. I like to take visitors to Ulele and walk the Riverwalk afterward. I gifted a Father’s Day custom paver to my dad last year along the Riverwalk!  There are many developments going on at once right now in the Tampa community and that is really neat to share with people who are considering a move to the Tampa area.

Why is it important for Berkshire Hathaway to invest in the Tampa Hillsborough EDC?

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Properties Group knew the importance of being an investor with the Tampa Hillsborough EDC. There are many great relationships established within the Tampa Hillsborough EDC and we would not want to be part of anything that did not encompass our own values, which the Tampa Hillsborough EDC does:  Teamwork, integrity, passion and excellence.
