Iron Bow Technologies, a Virginia company that provides tech and customer service support, is opening a new customer service center that will bring 170 new jobs to Tampa.

The operation at Woodland Corporate Center in north Tampa is expected to be operational by Nov. 1, the company said in an announcement Friday morning.

“Tampa has a nationally renowned reputation for great customer service and information technology talent — a perfect combination of skills that will help us ramp up quickly in our new location,” said Rene LaVigne, Iron Bow Technologies’ president and CEO.

Headquartered in Chantilly, Va., Iron Bow has annual revenues exceeding $800 million. The company, which was founded in 1983, has worked for hundreds of government and commercial clients, providing a wide array of tech support ranging from cloud computing to cybersecurity.

Iron Bow plans to invest more than $500,000 for its move into 24,000 square feet of office space. The new health benefits customer service center will be hiring customer service representatives, team leaders and trainers, as well as support professionals for human resources, operations and information technology.

The Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corp. helped Iron Bow Technologies with connections to Hillsborough County for expedited permitting and CareerSource Tampa Bay for job postings and workforce training grants. No economic incentives were involved with the project.

A pair of job fairs are planned at its new location — 4502 Woodland Corporate Center Blvd., Suite 105 — from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 24.
