LabTech Software to Expand Tampa Headquarters

TAMPA, Fla. / LabTech Software, the only remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform developed by an IT service provider for IT service providers, announced today plans to expand its Tampa operations, creating up to 100 new corporate headquarters jobs by 2016. The positions will fill a variety of key roles, including software development, sales, client support and marketing, that allow the company to meet a growing demand for its services. The project is also expected to generate more than $640,000 in capital investment in Hillsborough County.

Founded in 2004, LabTech Software is the RMM platform of choice for more than 4,200 IT service providers worldwide. The product is designed to help global IT solutions providers transform their IT services business into successful managed services operations, delivering tools to effectively monitor and manage both physical and virtual IT environments through a single console, automate any IT task, resolve issues without interrupting the end-users’ abilities to work, and much more.

Florida ranks second in the nation for tech job growth and third for high-tech establishments. The Florida High Tech Corridor, anchored by the Tampa Bay region, has also been named one of the top tech job hot spots in the United States. The Tampa metro area is home to approximately 20 percent of Florida’s IT positions. In the past five years, local IT jobs have grown at nearly twice the rate of overall average job growth, and are projected to increase by 10 percent over the next five year period.

The project was made possible through strong partnerships between Enterprise Florida, the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation, Hillsborough County, the City of Tampa and the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.

In March, the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners and the Tampa City Council approved a combined local incentive package of $100,000, supporting a commitment of $400,000 from the State of Florida through the Qualified Target Industry (QTI) program. The total QTI allocation of $500,000 will provide the company with support for up to 100 new, high-wage positions. The incentives, to be distributed over a period of six years, are performance-based, meaning funds are only paid after the jobs are created at the wages promised. The incentivized jobs will pay a minimum average wage of nearly $50,000.
