Lukos expands headquarters in Hillsborough County

TAMPA, Fla. / Lukos, LLC, a veteran-owned provider of professional services to the federal government, has announced that it will expand its headquarters in Hillsborough County. The company will add up to 10 new-to-Florida positions by 2017 in roles including project managers and financial analysts. The new jobs will pay an average annual wage of at least $72,000.
“Tampa has the access we need to the military and technology communities,” said Garth Arevalo, Lukos CEO. “We started our business in Tampa and thanks to connections to MacDill Air Force Base and the growing technology ecosystem, we have even more opportunities to expand here.”
Lukos specializes in supporting federal government acquisition programs, delivering technical, engineering, and healthcare advice, training and operations support, logistics planning, and maximizing human performance. The company’s expansion was spurred by a new project that will deliver a mobile application for combat trauma care training to Defense Health Agencies and military users worldwide.

Lukos is investing $10,000 in its new headquarters, to be located at 109 N. Brush St., Suite 400 in Tampa.

The project was made possible through strong partnerships between Enterprise Florida, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the City of Tampa, Hillsborough County and the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation.
“Lukos could have made the decision to locate these jobs elsewhere, but they chose to create them in Tampa,” said Mayor Bob Buckhorn, City of Tampa. “That speaks volumes about Tampa’s attractiveness to innovative, high-growth local companies, who are finding the support they need to successfully expand here.”

Lukos was recently awarded a $3.8m two-year prime contract in support of the Defense Health Agency’s efforts to create a new knowledge and learning system utilizing a mobile application that aims to both lower preventable casualties on the battlefield and create a ready medical force for the future. The project, known as the Medical Content Delivery Service (MCDS), will host a centralized repository for a vast variety of Department of Defense medical knowledge and learning content and will be published both online and to individually owned mobile devices.
The MCDS software platforms are scheduled for initial operational capability release in early spring 2017.
