Projected population growth over the next five years

Let’s look ahead at future population trends. Over the next five years, Hillsborough County’s population is projected to grow by 8.3%, more than the MSA, the state, and the nation.

Currently, Hillsborough County’s population stands at more than 1.4 million. According to ESRI, a leader in geographic information system software, Hillsborough County is projected to add 123,300 more residents by 2025, reaching 1.6 million.

Tampa zip code 33602, which includes the downtown area, is expected to grow the most at 22%. Zip codes in southern Hillsborough County, including the neighborhoods of Riverview, Ruskin, Gibsonton and Lithia, follow closely behind.
