The Tampa Bay Export Alliance, along with St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman and Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn, will travel to Toronto, Canada, to promote export opportunities for local companies in October.
In addition, Hillsborough County Board of Commissioners Chair Sandy Murman and Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners Vice Chair Charlie Justice will join the delegation, according to a statement.

“Canada is one of the most important strategic markets for Tampa Bay,” said Rick Homans, president and CEO of the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corp., in the statement. “It is the number one export destination for our region’s goods and services and our third largest source of foreign direct investment.”

In December, the alliance traveled to Santiago, Chile, on a trade mission that produced more than $9 million in expected new business for the companies that participated, the statement said.

Other recent trips have included Panama, Brazil and Colombia.
