Tampa MSA sees exponential growth in Professional & Business Services

From 2015 to 2016, the Tampa metro area saw growth of 6.2 percent in the Professional and Business Services industry alone.
In the chart below, growth in Tampa is compared to the other metros in Florida: Miami, Orlando, and Jacksonville. While the Tampa MSA only has the second highest number of employees in the Professional and Business Services sector, it had the largest year-over-year growth at 6.2 percent, while Orlando came in second at 5.3, Miami following at 4.4, and Jacksonville rounded out the list at 0.8 percent.

“The Miami metro population is twice the size of the Tampa area,” said Robin DiSalvo, Market Research Analyst for the EDC. “But they are not growing as fast in Professional and Business Services as the Tampa area is. We’re seeing a greater year-over-year change here, and this industry is only continuing to grow here. This is great news for the Tampa area.”
