tampabayedc.com wins Silver Davey Award

October 23, 2015

We’ve all heard the story of David and Goliath and how David defeated the giant Goliath, despite the difference in size. This is something that the Davey Awards believe small agencies do every year. The annual International Davey Awards honor the achievements of the “Creative Davids” who thrive on big ideas, rather than big budgets.

Once we heard this, we knew the EDC’s new website was a perfect fit.

Launched in June after months of writing, editing, and design work, the new tampabayedc.com highlighted all of the great companies, talented people, and services and resources available for businesses growing here in Tampa and Hillsborough County. And it did all this while visually engaging visitors with a user-friendly design, thanks to Haneke Design, the Tampa interactive agency who developed it, and photos of our beautiful region.

In July, our new web site was ranked in the top 10% of economic development web sites nationwide by industry experts Development Counsellors International (DCI).

This month, the EDC won a shiny Silver Davey Award. These honors were judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, an invitation-only group that includes executives from organizations such as Condé Nast, Disney, GE, Microsoft, and Yahoo!, among many others.

“This is a huge honor,” said Michelle Bauer, vice president of marketing and communications for the EDC. “We worked hard on this project for many months, and are so pleased with the amazing team at Haneke Design for achieving the results we desired. We’ve received extremely positive feedback on the web site’s look, feel, and quality of information. tampabayedc.com is our primary vehicle for telling our story and showcasing our community, and we couldn’t be more proud of it.”
