Tim Coop
Regional President, Tampa Bay

Tim Coop is Regional President of Tampa Bay for Hancock Whitney Bank and is responsible for all lines of business in the greater Tampa Bay region – including Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, Polk, Manatee, and Sarasota Counties.

Tim’s banking career includes 37 years in Commercial and Corporate Banking – all in the Tampa Bay Area – and his familiarity with the region is broad and deep. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Finance – with Honors) from the University of Florida. In 1989, he began his career as a Credit Analyst in the Management Associates Program of NCNB (predecessor to Bank of America), and was placed as a Commercial Relationship Manager in Clearwater in early 1990. In 1993, he accepted a similar position with First Union (predecessor to Wachovia/Wells Fargo) and relocated to St. Petersburg. He covered the entire Tampa Bay Region for First Union/Wachovia for the next 14 years. In November 2007, he accepted a position with Fifth Third Bank as a Commercial Banking Executive for Tampa Bay, which he held until joining Hancock Bank in October of 2011 as Area President of Pinellas and Pasco Counties. He assumed his current role as Tampa Bay Regional President in 2015.

Tim currently serves on the Board of Trustees as Treasurer of the Museum of Fine Arts of St Petersburg, the Board of Directors and member of the Executive Committee of Ruth Eckerd Hall, the Board of Governors of the St Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and member of Golden Triangle Association. He and his wife Deann reside in Old Northeast St. Petersburg and have three sons – ages 20, 24 and 28.
