Tampa Bay is home to 20 corporate headquarters, five of which have been named to the Fortune 500 list for 2021. Almost 500 foreign-owned companies representing more than 40 nations are established in our community.
As the commercial and industrial heart of the region, Hillsborough County – which includes the cities of Tampa, Plant City, and Temple Terrace – is a leading location for corporate site selection in North America.
Companies operating here enjoy lower costs, favorable corporate tax policies, no personal income tax, and stable, pro-business leadership. Collaboration between state and local government and industry has resulted in effective development packages, expedited permitting, and streamlined regulatory processes.
These conditions have made Hillsborough County an ideal place for companies such as Bristol-Myers Squibb, Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Raymond James Financial, MetLife, The Mosaic Company, OPSWAT, Suzuki Marine, Citigroup, Amazon, and USAA.
In 2018, Fortune 500 company The Mosaic Company announced plans to relocate its corporate headquarters, including senior executives and related functions, to Tampa. In 2021, fast-growing cybersecurity company OPSWAT announced plans to relocate its corporate HQ from San Francisco to Tampa, Suzuki Motor Corporation chose Tampa for the corporate headquarters location of its new company Suzuki Marine USA, and Signode, the transit packaging division of Crown Holdings, relocated its corporate headquarters from the Chicago area to Tampa.
“Tampa is the heart of the marine business in North America and we look forward to starting our operations here. We are confident that Tampa’s collaborative business climate, excellent quality of life and strategic location will help us build a successful company in the United States.”
