Tampa Bay EDC takes New York City by Storm on Signature Sales Mission

Earlier this month, a delegation of 18 EDC Investors and team members spent a whirlwind couple of days in New York City to visit key employers and tour top medical and research facilities. We kicked off the trip with an outstanding dinner at Forge, hosted by our Chair, Ron Christaldi of Shumaker.  We were also honored to have Mayor Jane Castor with us, championing Tampa as the best place in the nation to grow a business and find superb talent.

Our delegation spent the following day touring the Weill Cornell Medical Center’s Belfer Research Building, which was designed to attract and retain the most accomplished principal investigators and research teams from across the globe, with our hosts from Ennead Architects. We traveled to Jersey City to visit with Frank La Salla, President, CEO and Director of DTCC, which will celebrate its 20th year in Tampa this November. Our team thanked Frank and his colleagues for their continued investment and growth in Hillsborough County and discussed the future of fintech. Later that evening, we headed to the Bronx for an exciting baseball game at Yankees Stadium, thanks to our generous investor Tony Bruno and the Yankees organization.

While we accomplish a great deal in a short time, I am often most grateful for the opportunity to spend a bit of downtime on the bus or after dinner catching up with our Investors, learning more about what’s going on in their businesses, and chatting about our families. We are truly fortunate to have such dedicated and community-minded leaders in the Tampa Bay EDC. I want to thank everyone who participated in this trip along with our Chair and Mayor Castor – Sheylla Aceves of Tiger Concrete and Screed; Jason Baker of Tampa Bay Business and Wealth; Archie Collins of TECO; Ben Dachepalli of Bradley; Robin DeLaVergne of Tampa General Hospital; Casey Ellison of Ellison Development; Roger Germann of The Florida Aquarium; April Grajales of Regions; Chris Kirschner of BDG Architects; Merritt Martin of Moffitt Cancer Center; Steve Pratico of Johnson Pope; and Cary Putrino of Fifth Third Bank – as well as my outstanding Business Development team for another highly successful mission.

Participation in these missions is a benefit for our Circle of Champions and Chairman’s Council Investors. If you’d like to join this select group of business leaders, please contact me or Alison Gelbaugh, our Director of Investor Relations, at agelbaugh@tampabayedc.com.

Thank you,

Craig
