Amerant Bank has made a significant commitment to the Tampa area. Why was this market so appealing?
Amerant Bank found the Tampa area appealing due to its strong economic growth, diverse population, and expanding business opportunities, making it an ideal location for expansion and increased community involvement. We entered the Tampa market back in June of 2022 and opened our first banking center and regional office in 2024.
Where do you see the future growth opportunities for Amerant Bank, particularly in the Tampa Bay market?
We plan to open our second banking center in the downtown area of Tampa in the second half of 2025 and are exploring opportunities in St. Pete and Sarasota. The Commercial and Private Banking teams that we have built, along with our banking center strategy should help us become a well known and reliable financial services provider in this market.
Amerant Bank is a fairly new Investor of the Tampa Bay EDC. Why do you feel it’s important to support local economic development efforts?
Supporting local economic development is important to us at Amerant because it helps create jobs, boosts the local economy, and improves the overall quality of life in our local community. By investing in these efforts, companies like us can contribute to the growth and prosperity of the area, making it a better place for businesses and residents alike.
You joined Amerant Bank as the Central Florida Market President within the last year. What drew you to Amerant Bank, and what excites you most about the bank’s future in the Tampa area?
Amerant Bank has an over 40-year history as a successful Florida-based bank. Getting the opportunity to help build market share in Tampa really energizes our Tampa team and me. It a great match to be a growth focused bank in a community that has been thriving with many great days ahead.
