The NACC is a state-of-the-art environment delivering innovation capabilities that drive significant benefits cross-divisionally at an above-market location. Having a Capability Center in Tampa provides BMS with a vibrant market to attract and develop talent, and a regional center adding unique value to their operating model. This gives BMS a strategic capability for delivering process excellence and innovative services across enabling functions. Skip leads operations for the Bristol Myers Squibb North America Capability Center (NACC) in Tampa. In this role, he supports various functions within the site, driving internal and external engagements that foster professional growth among associates. He also acts as the BMS liaison with facilities, security, and building services, ensuring seamless operations.

Why does participating as an Investor in the Tampa Bay EDC make sense for your organization? 

Bristol Myers Squibb’s investment in the Tampa Bay Economic Development Council (EDC) reflects our deep commitment to the region and its vibrant business ecosystem. The EDC played a pivotal role in our initial expansion to Tampa, and our continued partnership allows us to stay connected to influential decision-makers, emerging opportunities, and strategic initiatives that align with our mission to transform patients’ lives through science. As a global biopharmaceutical company, we value the EDC’s ability to foster innovation, attract talent, and support the life sciences industry in meaningful ways.

How would you describe the role Bristol Myers Squibb plays in driving Tampa Bay’s local economy forward, especially as it relates to the life sciences industry?

Since opening our North America Capability Center (NACC) in Tampa in 2014, Bristol Myers Squibb has become a cornerstone of the local life sciences landscape. Our presence has created hundreds of high-value jobs and introduced cutting-edge capabilities in operations, analytics, and patient services. In January of 2026, we will relocate to the Westshore district, a move that reflects our growth and long-term commitment to Tampa Bay. This new location will enhance our ability to collaborate, innovate, and engage with the community while continuing to strengthen Tampa Bay’s reputation as a hub for biopharmaceutical excellence.

What does the future of Bristol Myers Squibb look like to you five years from now?

Looking ahead, Bristol Myers Squibb envisions a future where our Tampa operations continue to evolve as a center of excellence for innovation, inclusion, and impact. We aim to deepen our capabilities in digital transformation, data science, and patient-centric services, while expanding our community engagement footprint. Our goal is to be recognized not only for what we do but for how we do it; collaboratively, ethically, and with purpose. This relocation to Westshore in Tampa allows us to remain in a strategic location for driving operational excellence and advancing our commitment to health equity and scientific progress.

What would you consider the greatest reward for fulfilling Bristol Myers Squibb’s vision of transforming patients’ lives through science?
