Q&A with Matt Bernard:

What was it about Tampa that made your team want to expand within this market?

Tampa’s appeal for VaLogic’s expansion is rooted in its dynamic and rapidly growing life sciences ecosystem. The decision to enter this market is driven by several key factors: A thriving talent pool, robust industry growth, and a collaborative and innovative hub. Our team was particularly inspired by the world-class medical and research facilities in the area. This creates a powerful ecosystem for collaboration between clinical care, academic research, and biotechnology firms.

The Life Sciences and Healthcare industry was the fastest growing industry in Florida during the month of August. How does VaLogic see itself growing alongside this industry at such an accelerated pace?

VaLogic is poised to grow in tandem with Florida’s accelerated life sciences industry by providing essential, specialized services that support this exceptional growth. VaLogic’s growth strategy centers on building a comprehensive service platform through strategic partnerships and acquisitions. This allows the company to offer a complete suite of services—from facility planning and design to calibration, validation, and environmental monitoring that help life science organizations maintain GMP compliance and operational efficiency. By handling the complexities of compliance and facility management, VaLogic enables clients to focus their resources on the research, development, and production of life-saving therapeutics. As the number of biotech and pharmaceutical companies in Florida grows, so will the demand for these critical outsourced services.

Why did VaLogic choose to become an Investor with the Tampa Bay EDC?

VaLogic’s investment in the Tampa Bay Economic Development Council (EDC) is a strategic partnership designed to integrate the company into the fabric of the local business community and support its long-term growth. After an initial visit to the EDC office in early 2025, our executive team was impressed with the EDC’s leadership and mission. We felt an alignment on regional growth and understood the organizations dedication to fostering economic growth and attracting businesses to the area. By investing, VaLogic aligns itself with the engine of Tampa Bay’s development and gains a voice in shaping the future of the local life science industry.  A key focus of the EDC is “placemaking,” a strategy to create an environment that attracts and retains top talent. This directly benefits VaLogic and other companies that rely on a highly skilled workforce. The partnership provides a platform for networking with other industry leaders and innovators. It allows VaLogic to build relationships within the community and contribute to the collaborative spirit that makes Tampa an attractive place for business.

Where does VaLogic see the Life Science and Healthcare industry in five years?

The life sciences and healthcare industry is projected to continue its strong growth trajectory over the next five years, driven by innovation, collaboration, and an increasing need for specialized support services. We see the industry continuing to grow nationally with expansion likely to be concentrated in innovative hubs such as TMRD. This accelerated progress is due to the clustering of research, clinical, and commercial firms in one area. As biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies increasingly focus on their core mission of developing new therapeutics, the demand for specialized, outsourced compliance and facility services is expected to rise. Companies like VaLogic, which offer these services, will play a crucial role in the industry’s success.
