The Tampa Bay EDC joined our colleagues across the globe in celebrating Economic Development Week on social media during May 9-15. With the help of our partners at Trickey Jennus, the city of Tampa, and Hillsborough County, our team stacked the week with top-notch content that highlighted the programs – and people – that strengthen our local community and make it one of the country’s best places to live and grow a business.
We produced videos featuring leaders from several of our recently recruited and expanded projects. Our EDC team shared insights on our different programs and services. And Mayor Jane Castor and County Commission Chair Pat Kemp marked the occasion with videos about the importance of inclusive economic growth and the programs that supported residents and small business owners during Covid.
Testimonials from local business leaders, postings promoting ‘hot job’ openings, and graphics highlighting recent rankings and data rounded out the compelling content we employed to tell Tampa’s business story.
As a result, the Economic Development Week campaign generated more than 92,000 total impressions, more than 3,000 video views, nearly 2,500 page views on TampaBayEDC.com, and 67 new LinkedIn followers.
Economic Development Week was created by the International Economic Development Council in 2016 to increase awareness of local programs that create jobs, advance career development opportunities, and improve the quality of life in communities everywhere.
