Avalon Healthcare Solutions creating 40 new jobs

TAMPA, Fla. (February 11, 2020)Avalon Healthcare Solutions, a healthcare information technology company focused on medical benefit management, is expanding its corporate office in Tampa with plans to create positions in such areas as IT, data analytics, database management, and finance.

“We continue to grow as the healthcare industry seeks ways to streamline services, deliver better outcomes, and drive cost savings,” said Dr. Bill Kerr, CEO of Avalon Healthcare Solutions. “We feel fortunate to call Tampa home where we have found a collaborative and business-friendly community that can assist us during times of significant growth. In fact, this is our second expansion in five years that the Tampa Bay EDC has helped us navigate.”

Avalon is not only dedicated to improving patient outcomes, but also supporting its local community. Avalon donated more than $45,000 to local charities in 2019; and its team supports the American Heart Association and Metropolitan Ministries year-round, clocking approximately 100 hours of volunteer time.

The Tampa Bay Economic Development Council provided Avalon with workforce assistance and training grants as it plans to add more than 40 new high-quality jobs with an average salary of $80,000. Avalon joins a growing list of local healthcare and life sciences companies that have announced expansions in Hillsborough County, including MHK, Greenway Health, and Morphogenesis.

“Health tech is a growing industry across the country, and we’re seeing that growth here in Tampa Bay too,” said Marie Chinnici-Everitt, chair of the Tampa Bay Economic Development Council and managing director of The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC). “We’re pleased to assist local companies like Avalon as they expand and create new high-quality jobs here.”

About Avalon Healthcare Solutions

Founded in 2013, Avalon Healthcare Solutions is a healthcare information technology company focused on medical benefit management. Avalon provides a comprehensive program managing all outpatient laboratory services across all providers, including independent, physician office and hospital-based labs.

Avalon currently provides two modules: a comprehensive laboratory program to facilitate the management of all outpatient laboratory services, across all providers, and a medical specialty drug clinical claims editing module. Both drive considerable savings for health plans and individuals by automating existing plan policy adherence.

In addition, an independent Clinical Advisory Board has developed a suite of evidence-based laboratory policies addressing all lab testing categories. The majority of these policies impact high-volume, low-cost services, and are administered through Avalon’s real-time Medical Benefit Management Software.
