Beneficial Blends is a premier co-packer and manufacturer for private label organic, natural and conventional edible oils and fat products, including CBD oil for retailers nationwide.
Beneficial Blends has two private label brands, Kelapo®, a leading premium brand of coconut oil and ghee (clarified butter) sold on Amazon and retailers nationwide. Recently the company launched its own retail-ready private brand, Chillax’n™ CBD making it the highest-quality, most affordable CBD on the market. The new line of CBD products includes ingestible, body care and aromatherapy products designed to help provide relief, relaxation and recovery where it’s needed most.
Founder, Erin Meagher
In 2009, Erin Meagher, a high school business teacher, decided to follow her own mentorship and establish Beneficial Blends, LLC to make a difference in people’s lives. Erin launched the company’s first product, organic coconut oil, under the Kelapo® brand according to the company’s 4 Diamond Approach, which starts with ‘Beneficial for You’ product and focuses on quality, transparency, and social impact. A decade later, Beneficial Blends has become the premier organic, natural and conventional food manufacturer and co-packer for retailers and food services and was recently certified for dietary supplements, food additives, cosmetic products and repackaging of goods and upholds its’ Fair for Life certification.
Erin continues to lead Beneficial Blends to high growth. In 2020, the company was again recognized for the sixth year on the INC5000 and for the fifth consecutive year as one of the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Fast 50 growing companies. Erin is active with the Coconut Coalition of the Americas, US Hemp Roundtable and Hemp Industry Association. Erin loves Tampa Bay and is passionate about building the economy and creating a better place to live and do business by being active with Make It Tampa Bay, MacDonald Training Center and the Tampa Bay Economic Development Council.
Beneficial Blends has landed on both the TBBJ’s Fast 50 and the Inc. 5000 for the past five and six consecutive years, respectively. What is the number one contributor to your growth?
A hard-working team that embodies our core values in everything we do: sense of urgency, accountability, team-oriented, integrity, open-minded. These values shape everything we do and every decision we make.
What was the most exciting thing to happen at or to your company last year?
Being oil experts and knowing our oils are a great carrier for CBD allowed us to naturally expand into the CBD business. This past year we started offering private label co-packing & bulk CBD capabilities to our retail partners. We also developed our own retail-ready private brand, Chillax’n CBD.
Tampa is among the leading cities for net migration with more than 100 people moving to our area every day. What advice do you have for new residents looking for ways to familiarize themselves with the business and social scenes here?
To all the current and future generations looking to expand their horizons, Tampa is the ideal destination for that journey. Tampa has become a city with a phenomenal workforce made up of well-established individuals and a roaring social life. With an abundance of professional organizations and young professional groups there is no doubt that meeting like-minded people will come with ease.
