VoltAir Consulting Engineers to retain corporate headquarters in Hillsborough County and expand with 10 new high-wage jobs

VoltAir Consulting Engineers, a construction technology, design and engineering firm, today announced that it will expand its corporate headquarters in Tampa. The homegrown company has 30 local jobs and will create 10 new jobs, including engineers and technical staff. The expansion will also generate $330,000 in capital investment.

“We have access to an amazing talent pool here and the area’s continued growth presents a number of opportunities for us,” said Julius Davis, president and CEO of VoltAir Consulting Engineers. “We look forward to continued growth in Tampa and expanding our team with professionals that share the same drive and commitment to exceed our clients’ expectations.”

Founded in 2006, VoltAir has grown to more than 50 employees across offices throughout the Southeast. VoltAir works with clients throughout their construction projects, from pre-construction through the final turnover, providing services in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and information technology design. The company works across a wide variety of key markets including aviation, health care, office, retail, higher education, multi-family and energy plants.

“Enterprise Florida is thrilled that Voltair Consulting Engineers is expanding in Florida,” said Jamal Sowell, Florida Secretary of Commerce and President & CEO of Enterprise Florida, Inc. “This investment will create new, high-wage jobs for Hillsborough County.”

The project was made possible through strong partnerships between Enterprise Florida, the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation, Hillsborough County, and the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity. VoltAir’s new office location will be located at 6005 Benjamin Rd., in a building that is also occupied by Minimise USA, an Energy Efficiency Service Company, and frequent collaborator of VoltAir.

“It is always a point of pride when a local company chooses to expand in Hillsborough County,” said Les Miller, Chairman of the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners. “We’re grateful to VoltAir for continuing to invest in our community and creating high-quality jobs for our residents.”

VoltAir joins a growing number of local companies that have recently chosen to expand their operations in Tampa and Hillsborough County, including MHK, Tampa Bay Brewing Company, and Newgentek.

“VoltAir’s success demonstrates how local companies can thrive when they have access to a highly-skilled talent pool and a collaborative business environment,” said Judy Genshaft, Ph.D., chair of the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation and president emerita of the University of South Florida. “The EDC team is committed to supporting VoltAir as it continues to expand in Hillsborough County.”
