September 17, 2020

The U.S. Census released its latest county-to-county migration inflow data. From 2014-2018, more than 42,100 residents moved to Hillsborough County from different states.

Once again, the state feeding the most new residents to our area was overwhelmingly New York with more than 5,000. Illinois followed in second with more than 2,000 new residents.

Additionally, Hillsborough County received another 38,400 new residents from other counties within Florida. Neighboring counties Pinellas, Pasco and Polk were the largest contributors, however, a significant amount of new residents also came from the Orlando and Miami metro areas.
