Gordon Food Services plans to add 100 employees at its Plant City distribution center as the company grows its Central Florida operations.

The company also is adding 160,000 square feet to its warehouse. That work has already begun and will be completed next year, according to the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corp.

Gordon, from Wisconsin, set up operations in Plant City in 2010, when it bought a 1-million-square-foot building. The company sells food to restaurants and cafeterias, and it runs a chain of grocery stores, including locations in Clearwater, St. Petersburg and Tampa.

The company received $45,000 in fee waivers from Plant City for the expansion at 1410 Gordon Food Service Drive.

Gordon has already begun hiring for the new jobs. Interested applicants can find more information at gfs.com/en/careers.
