What excites you most about Tampa’s future? The future is bright for Tampa! The people, culture and business opportunities in Tampa excite me the most about Tampa’s future. It has been a great decision for us to relocate our Workscapes corporate headquarters here in 2019. We are excited to continue to invest in the Bay area.
When you’re talking to friends or colleagues from outside the market, what do you tell them about the Tampa Bay market? I tell them that we have moved all over the state as we have grown Workscapes and this is our final stop! We absolutely love it here. The market is business friendly, and as a woman-owned business, I have found Tampa to be especially supportive. Business and community leaders are active and involved in collaboration with the public and private sectors to grow the Bay area. These leaders are open to discussing big ideas and welcome new businesses like Workscapes with open arms. As I reach out to fellow CEOs in the region, I am continually impressed at their willingness to meet and build relationships.
What are Workscapes’ greatest opportunities for growth in the short term, and the longer term? Tampa has the greatest opportunity for growth out of our four markets that we serve. Although our primary business was focused on office furniture, we have evolved over the past 25 years to become a more integrated model of products and services for commercial interiors. This is a response to our clients asking us to provide more solutions in the interior space. Out of the four sectors that we serve- corporate, government, higher education and healthcare, we are seeing the fastest growth in the healthcare sector making up nearly 40% of our business. Key to our performance is having our own labor force, not outsourced to provide exceptional service. We don’t make anything at Workscapes, so we believe being the best service provider is our greatest opportunity for growth.
What’s your favorite place to go/favorite thing to do in Tampa? There are endless things to do in Tampa Bay! We have built many strong friendships in the community, so we enjoy spending time getting to know local residents and businesses. We enjoy watching sunsets, eating the great food, attending cultural events and showing off the area to friends and family. There is something for everyone here!
