North American Roofing Services, Inc. to Relocate U.S. Headquarters to Tampa

August 31, 2016

TAMPA, Fla. / North American Roofing Services, Inc., a national commercial and industrial roofing company, is relocating its corporate headquarters from Asheville, NC to Tampa. The company will create up to 180 new-to-Florida jobs that will pay an average annual wage of $61,316, and include corporate headquarter office roles such as executive management, accounting, finance, human resources, legal, and information technology.

North American Roofing Services, Inc. CEO Brian Verble said, “Tampa is the perfect place for us to relocate our headquarters. This city offers the sustainability we need for a very long, successful future.”

“Tampa’s talent pool both in volume and skill set is what attracted us most. We are the largest in our industry and experiencing double digit growth year over year, so people are our most important asset,” added Kelly Wade, chief operating officer, North American Roofing Services, Inc. “Beyond talent, Tampa offers everything we need to entice our key employees to relocate and ensure graduates of local universities and current workforce stay in the area – from a friendly business climate and a great lifestyle to philanthropic opportunities and excellent cultural amenities. The state and local governments have been extremely supportive and made us feel welcome. The city’s objectives truly align with our mission at North American. We look forward to collaborating with Tampa businesses, universities, charities and government to contribute to this great city.”

North American Roofing Services, Inc. will also invest at least $800,000 in construction, renovations, office equipment and furnishings in their new headquarters facility, located at Hidden River Corporate Center Two, 14025 Riveredge Drive, Tampa, and utilize local talent and businesses as part of the design plan.

“Few states can compete with Florida’s leading business climate, which was just voted the best in the nation by Business Facilities,” said Crystal Sircy, executive vice president and COO of Enterprise Florida, Inc. “Announcements like this help validate that ranking, and we are thrilled that North American Roofing Services chose to relocate their headquarters to Florida.”

A true economic super-state, Florida is the 4th largest economy in the U.S. and the 19th largest economy in the world, if Florida were considered a country. The state is already home to nearly 3,000 headquarters offices. Florida’s workforce, continually ranked among the nation’s best, offers a large and diverse talent pool 9.6+ million strong – including many foreign language speakers.

Cissy Proctor, executive director of Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, said, “We are excited to welcome North American Roofing Services to Florida. By establishing its headquarters in Tampa, North American Roofing Services will bring nearly 200 new jobs to the area. Florida continues to be one of the nation’s top job creators and a great destination for companies looking to grow their business.”

“After carefully considering three other states for their new headquarters location, North American Roofing Services discovered that Florida, and Hillsborough County in particular, is hard to beat when it comes to the cost of doing business, quality of life, and access to a top-notch workforce,” said the Hon. Lesley “Les” Miller, chairman of the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners. “We thank them for their investment in our community and look forward to supporting them as they settle into their new hometown.”

North American Roofing Services, Inc. joins a growing list of companies that have chosen Hillsborough County for their new corporate and regional headquarters, including Ashley Furniture Industries’ Ashcomm, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Cohesion, Inspirata, Johnson & Johnson and TransferWise.
“The word is spreading across the country about Tampa: this is a city on the rise,” said Mayor Bob Buckhorn, City of Tampa. “We’ve experienced tremendous growth in sectors ranging from manufacturing to information technology; and companies ranging from startups to Fortune 500 corporations are thriving. We welcome North American Roofing Services to Tampa and look forward to their achieving great success in our city.”

The project was made possible through strong partnerships between Enterprise Florida, the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation, Hillsborough County, the City of Tampa and the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.

“Tampa offers North American Roofing Services many key advantages as its headquarters home,” said Colleen Chappell, chair of the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation and CEO of ChappellRoberts. “Recruiting top talent to this market is a breeze. Our pro-business climate, convenient air access to customers across the country, and lower cost of living make it easier to grow here than in many other states. We welcome Brian and his team and are eager to get them acquainted with our community’s business leadership.”
