Tampa Hillsborough EDC Launches New Website

June 17, 2015

Here at the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation, we push ourselves every day to “Think Big.” And our Marketing and Communications department did just that with the re-launch of our website.

“We know that Tampa and Hillsborough County have great companies, talented people, and offer the support growing businesses need to compete and thrive,” said Michelle Bauer, Vice President of Marketing & Communications. “We needed an online presence that showcased all of that and more. A visitor coming to the new website will get a much better sense of what it would be like to relocate their company and employees here. An expanding local business can discover the many ways we can make that process easier and more cost effective. And the images we’ve woven throughout it bring to life the people, places and companies that make this community so special.”

Designed and developed in collaboration with Tampa interactive agency Haneke Design, the new web site delivers enhanced information about the services provided by the EDC’s Business Development team as well as our target industries: Defense & Security, Information Technology, Life Sciences, Manufacturing, Financial & Professional Services, and Film & Digital Media. The GIS Directory, sponsored by Tampa Electric and Peoples Gas, is also included on the redesigned site, offering visitors a database of available commercial space in the area.

New elements include an entire section dedicated to those who make the work of the Tampa Hillsborough EDC possible: our Investors. The Investor Directory features our more than 100 Investors who support the work and mission of the EDC, with a page dedicated to each company that has invested in the EDC.

The Data Center has also been revamped with easier-to-access workforce data, economic indicators, quality of life, and demographics reports. In these reports, visitors will be able to find our cost of living index, how many 25 to 34 year olds have a bachelor’s degree or higher, and how many individuals are employed in the manufacturing industry.

A robust Media Center features press releases, news articles, blog posts, and videos and photos from various community events dating back to 2012.

“We want the world to know why this region ranks as a Top 20 MSA and one of the most business-friendly locations in the U.S.,” said Rick Homans, President and CEO of the EDC. “This website is a powerful tool that helps us tell our story and inspires people to come here and experience this community for themselves.”
