The Depository Trust & Clearing Corp. plans a $4.8 million expansion investment in Tampa and will create 255 new jobs.
The expansion is the corporation’s first since it opened is New Tampa facility nine years ago, according to a written statement.

Organizations supporting the expansion include the city of Tampa, Enterprise Florida, Hillsborough County and Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corp.

The planned jobs will be in highly specialized sectors, including information technology, operations, human resources and finance. A phased hiring schedule will span a projected three-year period.

DTCC started its local operation with about 300 employees and now has nearly 530 — about 40 percent of them women.
The corporation has created partnerships with MacDill Air Force Base, the University of South Florida and other local education institutions for recruiting talent.

DTCC considered offers from other states where it has existing operations, but decided to expand in Tampa because of the recruitment potential and quality of life, according to the statement.

“The decision to expand our operations in Tampa signals our continuing commitment to this community and represents a new chapter in DTCC history,” said Michael Bodson, president and CEO, in the statement.
