Driven to achieve Tampa and Hillsborough County’s greatest potential

November 2, 2023

Last week, several hundred of Tampa Bay’s most impactful leaders, movers and shakers gathered at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s Events Center for the Tampa Bay EDC’s 2023 Annual Meeting. The energy in the room was palpable, and we had much to celebrate. Tampa Bay’s global and national recognition as destination for business and talent keeps growing. The interest we’re receiving from international firms looking to relocate here is strong and getting stronger. And our leadership is passionately focused on achieving the mission and goals we established with our FY2023-2025 strategic plan.

It’s been a whirlwind of a year, with the launch of several exciting new initiatives like the Tampa Medical and Research District and our Opportunity Tampa Bay Inc. nonprofit. You can read more about these initiatives as well as the EDC’s achievements in our Annual Meeting recap.

We could not accomplish the important work that we do without the tireless and dedicated service of our Officers, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors. Thanks to all of you and to every Investor who supports our organization. Special thanks to all who sponsored our Annual Meeting. This event is one of the most eagerly anticipated business functions of the year thanks to your generous support.

Our 2023 Chairman, Angel Gonzalez of SouthState Bank, has been an incredible ambassador for our community locally, nationally, and internationally. We are so grateful for his dedication and service. We’re excited to have the leadership of our new Chair, Joe Lopano of Tampa International Airport, and have an action-packed year of international business recruitment opportunities ahead of us.

Our community is on a roll, and we’ve got so much more to do.
