Expansion includes leasing over 3,000 square feet of office space at Tampa City Center and plans to create 100 new jobs through 2025

Tampa, Fla. (August 11, 2022) – BeniComp, a Tampa-based health tech company operating in the insurance space, is expanding its local workforce with plans to create 100 new jobs through 2025 in such areas as client support, sales and marketing, software development, preventive health, and accounting.

After transitioning to fully remote due to COVID-19, BeniComp is returning to the office, leasing over 3,000 square feet at Tampa City Center in downtown Tampa.

“We saw significant growth in sales during COVID and a need for additional staff. Knowing that we would soon return to the office, we kept our focus on hiring to the Tampa area,” said Steve Presser, president of BeniComp. “As we continue to grow quickly, it’s more important now than ever to sustain one cohesive culture. That’s something that can really only be done by having our employees meet and collaborate on a regular basis.”

With preventive health at the core of its products, BeniComp works with organizations to provide innovative solutions to sustain the health of their workforce. Headquartered in Tampa with an operations office in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, BeniComp leverages its 60-year history to develop products and technology that emphasize preventive health management and address two of the industry’s biggest challenges: skyrocketing costs and prevalence of chronic disease.

The Tampa Bay EDC has assisted BeniComp with connections to local universities for internship opportunities and workforce partners for training grant programs. BeniComp joins a growing list of health tech companies that have announced expansions in Tampa and Hillsborough County, including Avalon Healthcare Solutions, MHK, and Pfizer.

“Health tech is an emerging sector across the country and continues to be a focus for the Tampa Bay EDC. Fast-growing health tech companies are finding the diverse talent they need in Tampa thanks to our well-established healthcare and IT industries as well as our world-class educational partners,” said James Nozar, chair of the Tampa Bay Economic Development Council. “We’re pleased to assist local companies like BeniComp as they continue to expand and invest in our community with the creation of new high-quality jobs.”

Earlier this year, BeniComp was recognized among the 11th Annual GrowFL Companies to Watch and is a past Tampa Bay Business Journal Best Places to Work honoree.
