Kyle Young is a seasoned professional in the security and life safety industry, currently serving as the Business Development Manager for Convergint. With a career spanning 18 years in the industry, Kyle has been an integral part of the Convergint team since 2015.
In his role, Kyle oversees a diverse portfolio, managing relationships with key clients in Tampa’s prominent sectors such as health care, aviation, and utilities. His expertise extends to providing strategic solutions that align with the unique needs of each client. Additionally, Kyle plays a vital role in supporting local account executives in both the Tampa and Ft. Myers offices, contributing to the overall success of Convergint.
You’re a fairly new EDC Investor, what community issues are you most looking forward to the EDC tackling over the next couple of years?
I am eager to see the growth in the Med-Tech / Bio-Tech sector in Tampa. A growing sector attracts investors and entrepreneurs looking to capitalize on emerging opportunities. This influx of capital and talent can further stimulate growth and innovation within Tampa’s economy. These sectors are known for their focus on research and development, aiming to improve healthcare outcomes, develop new treatments, and enhance diagnostic tools. Tampa’s potential growth in these areas suggests a burgeoning hub for cutting-edge research and innovation.
What in your view are Convergint’s greatest opportunities for growth in the short term, and the longer term?
I am excited to work with our Cyber-hardening /Hygiene in the near future and automated / intelligent security offerings (robotic, drone, AI, etc.) in the future. Automated Security involves the use of automated tools and processes to monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents in real-time. Automation can significantly enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of security operations, allowing for faster threat detection and response. Intelligent Security (AI, Robotics, Drones, etc.) refers to leveraging artificial intelligence, robotics, drones, and other emerging technologies to enhance security capabilities. AI can analyze vast amounts of data to identify patterns and anomalies, while drones and robotics can be deployed for surveillance and response in inaccessible or hazardous environments.
What excites you most about Tampa’s future?
The Brightline expansion to Tampa. The introduction of Brightline can stimulate economic growth by creating jobs during the construction phase and potentially boosting tourism and local business activities in Tampa. Improved transportation infrastructure can also attract new businesses and investments to the region.
What is your favorite part about living in Tampa?
Living in Tampa offers a unique blend of proximity to diverse attractions that cater to various interests, making it an ideal location for families seeking both recreational like beaches, boating, theme parks and cultural experiences.
