1. You’re a member of our new competitiveness committee. What is the number one thing that you believe will impact Tampa Bay’s competitiveness in the coming decade?

The most important thing is the continuing development and attraction of the talent we need to grow our businesses. This involves a multi-faceted approach with the education pathways through our universities targeting the right skills, bringing people with the right competencies to the Tampa Bay Region, and matching with the companies that call Tampa Bay home.

2. What role do you see your organization playing in helping to shape our community’s future?

Johnson & Johnson is guided by Our Credo, which in part states: “We are responsible to the communities in which we live and work and to the world community as well.” We know that our employees are an integral part of the local communities, supporting our schools, charities, and local businesses. We want to ensure that our focus as a company is to continue to support our teams to be active members of the communities in which we work and play.

3. How has the EDC played a role in helping your business succeed in Tampa and Hillsborough County?

The EDC was an instrumental partner in helping Johnson & Johnson decide to open our Global Services Hub in Tampa, and to increase our footprint to 500+ employees over the last ~6 years. The partnership with the EDC helped J&J navigate the complex local, city and state requirements to determine the advantages of choosing the Tampa Bay area. We have not been disappointed!

4. What’s your favorite place in Tampa or your favorite thing to do here?

Oh, so many to think about. The growth in Water Street in downtown Tampa has been so much fun to watch. There are so many new places to meet people, and so many great restaurants that are popping up everywhere. Who doesn’t love Armature Works or Sparkman Wharf? Lightning Hockey or a concert at Amalie Arena? Or a fabulous show at the Straz Center for Performing Arts? There are just too many great things to say about our city!
