Merit Logistics relocating corporate headquarters from California to Tampa

October 5, 2022

Tampa, Fla. (October 5, 2022) – Merit Logistics, a national third-party warehouse services provider, has announced plans to relocate its corporate headquarters from San Juan Capistrano, California to Tampa, FL. The company has purchased a 7,430 square-foot property at 601 S Magnolia Ave. in Hyde Park and plans to immediately create up to 20 jobs at their headquarters.  Executive level staff will relocate, and new jobs will be created in finance and human resources.

“For our new headquarters we were looking for a place that provides an excellent quality of life, a favorable tax climate and plenty of family-friendly activities. Tampa met all these criteria and more,” said Cesar Scolari, CEO of Merit Logistics. “We found a perfect property and are excited to ramp up our operations quickly and join this thriving community.”

Merit Logistics works with many of the nation’s leading grocery chains, retailers, and third-party logistics to provide flexible, skilled warehouse labor solutions that assist with optimizing operational efficiency, throughput, and profitability for their distribution centers.

The Tampa Bay Economic Development Council conducted a virtual visit with the Merit Logistics team, providing a community overview and local labor information. The Tampa Bay EDC team has offered to support Merit with its talent and workforce needs as it ramps up its new headquarters.

“The logistics industry is an important part of our expanding economy. We’ve seen an increase in activity this year from logistics companies that are drawn to our market because of our growing population, excellent quality of life, and skilled talent pool,” said James Nozar, chair of the Tampa Bay Economic Development Council. “We welcome the Merit Logistics team to our community and look forward to further assisting them as they set up operations here.”
